Treat your Feet with ECCO Shoes

We are filled with hope that the summer will arrive, and even if we don’t have constant sunshine, us Brits get our toes out at even a glimpse of sunshine. So, ladies, it is essential that those toes and feet are kept in tip top condition.

Some handy Toe Tips to get you started:

1. Sounds simple…but keep your feet clean- wash them, no, scrub them daily!

2. Treat yourself!! Make sure you get a pedicure on a regular basis

3. Keep heels from cracking by applying intensive cream just before bed. AND you can pop on a pair of cotton socks to let the cream absorb deeper overnight

4. Always use actone free nail polish- it won’t stain or damage your nails

5. Remember to use toe seperators to perfect your nail varnish. Handy hint- if you don’t have seperators you can  use twisted tissue paper between your toes

Here in Oxford, May Day (1st May) has been a celebrated event for over 500 years. It starts when the sun rises with the choir boys from Magdalen College singing a hymm from the top of Magdalen Tower and followed by festivities including Morris dancing and impromptu music giving a party atmosphere in the streets of Oxford. And we wanted to pass a little bit of the festivities on to you…!

Go Colour Crazy with ECCO Shoes

One of the seasonal trends for Spring/Summer is the colour pop trend. It can be seen anywhere and everywhere, and definitely brightens up the day. The key feature of this trend?! Well, you won’t only see colour in the main part of the shoe/piece of clothing, it appears throughout. Whether that is the stitching on the pockets or the hem of your trousers, or the lining/sole of a shoe the colour appears in ‘pops’ all over the item.

But for those who aren’t quite ready for a head to toe outfit of colour you can quite simply add it to your feet. Prepare To Jump Into Summer

All year, they’ve been running errands, standing in queues, pounding the floor in the gym and hardly seeing the light of day as they’ve gone from woollen socks and boots to padded slippers to soggy sneakers.

But with the arrival of summer, your feet are getting excited about sandals and fresh air and barefoot walks on the beach. They’re nearly wriggling with anticipation of the warm sunshine and the dewy grass and the chance to lie exposed in a new pair of summer shoes or perhaps entirely naked. Your feet are getting ready to make their appearance again — or are they?

Going from boots to strap sandals can be a just too big a step for the first outing. So many of theboots on the market today are like outdoor slipper. No support, no pressure, and no arch support . So imagine the shock when you free your toes but hold the shoes on with straps and buckles or Velcro.

The skin upper and sole of your foot can become tender so allow them to get used to shoe and sandals again over a period of time. New shoes should be tried around the house first. Think of your hands and wearing gloves for six months and then subjecting them to washing up, gardening, holding the dog lead, and washing the car and expecting them to not show signs of the activity.

ECCO Don’t Just Do Shoes…

ECCO are renowned for the comfortable and high quality shoes, and also their unique selling point that they own the whole process ‘from cow to shoe’ ensuring standards, quality and workmanship.

And just recently when American designer Alexander Wang chose ECCO leather for his new collection it was a moment to be proud of. ECCO leather managing director said:

As modelled by supermodel Gisele Bundchen on the runway at New York fashion week, the leather features in Wang’s Autumn/Winter collection- so you have a while before trying to get your hands on it!

The leather he chose was the vegetable tanned leather called ‘history’. It was originally designed for shoes, but Alexander Wang was so impresses by it and made it part of his collection.

We Don’t like to boast but…

Here at ECCO Oxford, we don’t like to be big headed about what we get up to- we get enough pleasure out of making you guys happy! But, something happened recently that we were so excited by (and starting trying to imagine how we could cash in).

Our online shop manager received and email all the way from the Accessories training co-ordinator on the east coast of Australia about using the videos on our YouTube channel as a tool to train his teams up and down Australia. Of course, we agreed without hesitation, and are very proud of the achievement.
